Conversations With Eli

This isn't a picture post...but I have to put this somewhere and here's as good a place as any.

SO

This morning our internet was down and we couldn't get Eli's favorite show "Curious George" to play. He was upset (he is the KING of routine...).

About a half hour later I was up in my bedroom getting ready and Eli was playing with some toys next to me.

"Mama...can we call a policeman?"

"Ummm...why?"

"Uhhh he will come and fix the teebee."

We didn't call 911. But I bet Eli would have been more entertained by the officers if we had than he would have by any old cartoon anyway.

A Berry Good Time

For the last few years I've been hoofing it down to Benjamin to get berries. A good friend would always organize the trip but since she abandoned me for Seattle this year (you know who you are...) I had to make my own arrangements. I discovered McBride's Berry Patch in Mapleton. It's pure joy. No appointment needed, rows and rows of gorgeous berries, and even a little flower patch so you can snip a few buds on the way out. We went as a family and had a wonderful time.
Eli had a blast. He was a good berry picker and an even better berry eater.
 My pensive raspberry man.
 My bucket o berries!
 Getting a drink.
Obligatory "I promise kids I was around when you were young I was just always the one taking the pics" pic.

Fun Times Were Had By Alll

We have a Pass of All Passes this year. Everyone around here has them...it gets us into a ton of venues...but we've only been to Trafalga and Seven Peaks Water Park.
Dan and Eli love the boats. I don't...you get very wet on these.
 My need for speed boy.
Eli has really taken up a love for art projects. It's one of the few things I can get him to do where he holds still for ten minutes.
Sammy eats anything I put in front of him. I love this kid.

Zoo Halloo!

A week ago I went with a friend up to Hogle Zoo. I took Eli last year and he enjoyed it but wasn't as enthusiastic as I would have hoped. THIS year was very different. He LOVED it. He was ecstatic. Every moment he was running around pointing at animals and being generally over-stimulated and happy.

Alex and Ian joined us. Alex was a good sport helping to wrangle a 'leashed' Eli.
 Seals!
This polar bear was a hoot! He performed endless tricks.
