Easter! Finally!

Easter came and went and I have not had time to post pics here. Let me take you through our weekend of Easter fun one event at a time.

I consider tulips blooming an event. And ours were quite eventful this year. Since we weren't here last Spring, it was fun to see what surprises popped up.

Friday some friends came over and we decorated cookies. Nothing says Easter like sugar!
Sugar high!

Sunday we had dinner with the Kaysville Meiners. We had a great time and enjoyed some lovely weather.

Saturday evening we were graced with the presence of Sam, Rebecca, and April. We had a fun time, and enjoyed the constant entertainment that is Eli.

Good Auntie Reba.

Dan's Big 26th Birthday Bash

It was supposed to be an evening in the sun. I'd been planning for a month on lovely weather, barefoot little kids, frisbees, and flowers. Instead, due to a chili wet April, Dan's birthday bbq was moved indoors for a bit more intimate experience. We still have a grand time and lots a great friends stopped by to say hi. Food, friends, and fun. Good times.

Don't be deceived by the green. It was cold outside. Notice only the men folk are out? Us women were inside keeping warm.
Party guests!
More party guests!
The ultimate party crasher.
All Dan wanted in the way of birthday cake were funfetti cupcakes. I could handle that. He looks pretty excited.
Look Mom! A girl baby! They do exists.

Daddy and Eli

Eli's favorite person in the world is not Mom. Oh no. Not the person who runs after his little feet for 9 hours a day solo. Not the person who wiped poop from her favorite shirt yesterday and decided it was just better to throw it away. Not the person who has bruises on her arms and legs from a certain little spoon attack. Nope. Eli's favorite person, far and away, is Daddy.

Every day when Dan gets home Eli runs to the door and literally dances up and down waiting for Dan to walk in. When Dan enters, Eli throws his arms around him and puts his head on his shoulder. And there is a good reason for that. Dan is amazing with Eli. He takes him for walks, jumps with him on the tramp, and tends to scraped knees and fingers. Daddy is Legend.

That is what that looks like...an upside down poopie cleaning...
Story time with Daddy.

Post-Napimus Maximus

When Eli wakes up from his nap he is usually in a pretty good mood. I was able to borrow a camera today and shot some pics of his post-naptime happiness. Man I love this kid.

That right there is classic Eli. Skeptical...and a little disturbed.

No Camera

Well, irony is delicious, and we've been eating it regularly around here. For instance, a few weeks ago Dan and I were on a walk and Eli started fussing in the stroller. I handed him my camera to play with and Dan said, "he'll break that". Scoffing, I told him I let Eli play with the camera all the time and nothing bad has every happened. Well, my son likes to make a liar of me and within two seconds he had inflicted permanent damage on my little Fiji. Or Fuji. My camera.

So I haven't been able to take pictures in a while. And, I really want a new camera. A nice camera. A shiny, super lovely, don't let the baby play with it sort of dealy. I've been looking into a few different models of the Cannon Rebel. Any thoughts on what a good higher/low end camera might be? I would like to find something in the $500-$700 range, new or used.

Braddy's 50th!!

My dear brother Brad turned 50!! And to celebrate, we went all out and had a weekend full of partying. Here are a few photo highlights from the weekend's adventures.

Dan went skiing with my family...or as the kids are saying it these days, "snowboarding".
I think this photo was taken around...4:20 in the afternoon.

In the way of parties, Jody threw quite a night; a bouncy house, a ping pong table, POPCORN! These little minions were created by Janica...and eaten by me.
Me sneaking minions.
A picture of Dan shredding the narr...inside a church....tsk tsk.
Eli at the Church Art History Museum. He looks scared to be in a poncho...

Dinner at our place on Monday. Yay Hooray!

Eli's Hair Cut

Well, it was a short week around here...and by short...I mean a short hair week. I decided to cut Eli's hair...a little trim...just a bit off the top. What happened next was this:

Followed by Eli's first trip to a real stylist...of which he was frightened.

By the end of the day he was looking pretty shaved. But it will grow back...my poor little boy...
