Best Family Photo Eva

Jeff snapped this on a hike in Co Springs. It may be my favorite family photo I've seen in a long time. It deserved its own post.

Trip to Arvada and Co Springs

We just returned from a wonderful trip to Colorado. First stop was Colorado Springs for a fun weekend with Jeff, Bridget and the boys. In typical me fashion I forgot to take any pics of Ethan, Ryan or Josh but instead took tons of just Eli...uh...Oops! We had a blast visiting and wish we lived closer so Eli could play with his Colorado Cousins more often.

Loving my little guy.

As soon as we arrived in Arvada we headed over to the Apex Center for some fun in the water.
I forgot Eli's swim suit so he's just sporting a swim diaper. Someday he may hate me for these photos...
Eli is all fish. The whole time at the pool he would run to any open water source and jump in head first. I think its going to be a scary, fun time once we start swimming regularly. He definitely has no fears when it comes to water.

Auntie Rachel snapped some great pics of Eli while making him laugh so hard. It was hilarious.

With Dan's folks after church.

Grandma and Grandpa Garfield!

A moment of peace on the drive home...

Left Over Pics

I just went through and cleaned up the card on my camera. Here are a few shots I just couldn't delete. Kind of a hodge podge from last year.

Eli Gets a Hair Cut...and Sits in a Pot

I'm either brave or stupid (or a little of both) but I decided yesterday that Eli needed a haircut, and that he needed one NOW. After his bath I combed his hair and did the best I could to trim up his long mane. That was not easy. This boy is a squirmy boy. But I think it didn't go as bad as it could have. At least neither one of us bled to death from a scissor wound.

Also, Eli has developed a new love for sitting in my stock pot. He pulls it out of the drawer and then just plops down in it. That's all fine and dandy until...

He gets stuck.

New Years Eve Garfield Style

This year we took it easy. Dan and I stayed home, just the two of us, and had a really lovely time.

We partied with this one, until he reached critical mass and was put to bed.

We made lots of treats and ate ourselves silly. By the end of the night Dan had beaten me sorely 3 times in chess but I dominated the house in Chinese checkers so all was good.

I even made lemon squares, which I love but never make because they take so long.

What a great way to ring in the new year!
