A Healthy Dose of Sammy

These last few weeks have been crazy and fun and exhausting and amazing all rolled into one big ball of stinky diapers, no sleep, and lots and lots of baby cuddling. Since Sammy made his impromptu entrance two weeks ago life has sped up and slowed down all at the same time. The one thing that has amazed me through all of it is how wonderful my family and friends are. We have been so blessed to have such a hoard of incredible people helping us out.

Here are a ton of pictures from Sammy's zeroth birthday party and the succeeding days. He's pretty cute I must say.

The whole fam. Eli is still adjusting to having a bb brother but is so loving and..."helpful".

Poor little swollen and bruised arm.

Auntie Kathryn....our lifesaver. She came over and slept at our house when I went to the hospital so Dan could come up. She really saved the day.
Wide awake!
Love this one.

Christmas Trip to Denver

With impending baby on the way we visited our family in Denver a week before the big day. It was a lovely trip and, as always, over too soon. Eli had a blast playing with his cousin Nora and of course Grandma and Grandpa Garfield. And miraculously enough, he was an absolute angel both going and coming in the car for the 8 hour drive. Dan and I were pleasantly surprised.

Watching "teebee" with Grandma.
Aunt Rachel and Nora show Eli how to work his new toys.
Helping him unwrap his booty.
Grandpa reads to Eli.

Christmas 2011

Christmas seems so long ago...it's amazing to think a month hasn't even passed since we were sitting around the tree opening presents. We were supposed to go to Denver this year for Christmas but because I was measuring big, baby-wise, our midwife said a road trip that close to my due date was probably not a good idea. And it's probably a good thing, seeing as we were supposed to drive home the day I went into labor with Sammy...

So we spent a lovely holiday with my folks and Cristy up in Bountiful. Eli was in heaven; presents are his new favorite thing. He loves to unwrap anything with paper on it and by the end of our present opening session we were just letting him unwrap everyone's gifts. Here are some of my favorite shots.

Opening....
Reading with Auntie Cristy
Dan took this at the park....I dig it.
Eli and his best friend "bumpa"
Awesome jammies Uncle Same brought back for Eli from China.
